Airflex wheels are engineered with a special material containing thousands of miniature air pockets throughout the wheel body. This unique construction dissipates heat generated by friction, keeping temperatures low during use so the wheel lasts longer and won’t burn the metal being worked on.
The Medium Green wheel is particularly well regarded for pre-polishing platinum. Renowned goldsmith and instructor Doug Zaruba has praised it for saving time in platinum preparation prior to final polish, leaving a surface finish comparable to 800-grit paper. All three grits are also excellent for surface preparation on gold and silver.
Available in three grits — Coarse, Medium, and Fine — these large conforming wheels are a long-lasting addition to any professional polishing setup.
